The band may also participate in the Veterans Day celebration at the Expo Center in November and there may also be some elementary performances in Nov or Dec.

Competition Schedule

The band participates in marching band competitions. Bands are divided into classes according to size and each band receives a score in several categories. The specific competitions in which the band participates will be determined each fall and announced in class and placed on the monthly calendar. These dates cannot be announced much in advance because Mr. Thomas has to apply to each competition, wait to be accepted, wait again to find out the performance times. Plan to attend at least two competitions in October and possibly one in September. These are held on Saturdays and will take the majority of the day and evening. The specific times will not be posted until approximately 10 days before each competition because the hosts do not put out the performance schedules until then. You will find those times on Mr. Thomas' Calendar. (click on the calendar event to see additional details) Plan to spend the majority of the day enjoying marching band music and the awards ceremonies.
